You are warmly invited to attend the 2025 CAGIS Distinguished Speaker Series. We are honored to invite Dr. Marc P. Armstrong, Professor Emeritus from the Department of Geographical and Sustainability Sciences at the University of Iowa, to visit UNC Charlotte and deliver a talk entitled:

Fifty Years of Geospatial Computing: Retrospect and Prospect

Dr. Armstrong is a world-renowned pioneer and leading authority in Geographic Information Science (GIScience). His work has shaped the evolution of GIScience for nearly four decades. His pioneering efforts have significantly advanced GIScience, particularly in areas such as spatial analysis, spatial decision support system, high-performance computing, and cartography. His contributions deeply and consistently influence GIScience, geospatial data science, and relevant domains worldwide.
